LEE COUNTY GO TEXAN FUNDRAISER TO BE HELD JUNE 21-22

  

Mark your calendars for the 2024 Lee County Go Texan BBQ Cook-off and Scholarship Fundraiser weekend.

The fundraiser event will be held June 21-22 at the Silos on 77 in Giddings.

The Barbecue Cook-off is limited to the first 50 teams. Participants should get their applications and entry fees in early so that you can reserve your space.

They will be having the Margarita and Open Event contests on Friday, June 21. There will also be a cornhole tournament and a domino tournament on that same evening.

Meanwhile the Bloody Mary, Beans, Chicken, Pork Ribs, and Brisket contests are being held on Saturday, June 22.

The events are open to the public, and include up to $1,500 in cash payouts.

The Lee County Go Texans Committee added this the Cook-off  Weekend to raise scholarship funds to be given to Lee County High School Seniors in Dime Box, Giddings, and Lexington.

In over 30 years, the Go Texan Committee has awarded over $1 million in scholarships so that seniors in those three districts can continue their education.
