SALES TAX REBATES UP ACROSS WASHINGTON CO. IN JUNE

  

Sales and tax distributions were up for the month of June around Washington County.

The county’s rebate this month was $386,367, up 0.93 percent from last June, when it received $382,776.  So far in 2024, the county has collected $2,350,231, down 1.42 percent from its receipts of $2,384,225 through June 2023.

The City of Brenham brought in $821,901 in June, 13.66 percent above the $723,097 rebate from June of last year.  Through the halfway point of 2024, the city has received $5,085,315, an increase of 9.46 percent from the $4,645,608 taken in through this time a year ago.

The City of Burton received $8,674 this month, 3.59 percent more than last June’s payment of $8,373.  The city’s year-to-date collections of $91,531 are 60.09 percent higher than where they were last year, at $57,173.

Comptroller Glenn Hegar reported a state payout of $1.1 billion in local sales tax allocations in June, up 6.8 percent from June 2023 and up 2.5 percent for the year so far.

    1. Gary That’s a Good thing as far as collected taxes and rebates go, It helps reduce our overall property tax amount, Not by much but it does help a little. and anything I can get reduced I am grateful for it.
