FOUR CALLS SATURDAY FOR BRENHAM FIRE DEPT.

The Brenham Fire Department was called out four times on Saturday.

The first call came in at 10:45 a.m., when Brenham units and members of the Salem Volunteer Fire Department were dispatched to the 5900 block of Sander Road for a grass fire.  The Brenham department arrived on location to find a power line down and the fire out.  BFD members waited until the Salem department made it to the scene before returning to service.

Shortly after 1 p.m., Brenham firefighters received a report of a fire alarm at Eye Associates of Brazos Valley, 1205 South Austin Street.  Units found nothing showing from the exterior of the building and ultimately discovered a bad smoke detector, so they advised an employee to have their system checked.

Approaching 3 p.m., the department was called out to the 4000 block of Highway 290 East for a transportation incident.  There, firefighters found a two-vehicle accident with no injuries or fluids leaking.  They returned to service after both vehicles were removed from the roadway.

Just past 4 p.m., units were sent to the Blinn College Academic Building, 700 Blinn Boulevard, for a report of a fire alarm sounding.  Nothing was showing from the outside of the building.  After checking, firefighters found that the building was being remodeled, and the alarm was caused by workers who were on scene painting.
