BURTON AMERICAN LEGION TO HOST 4TH OF JULY PICNIC
Burton American Legion Post #242, the Ladies Auxiliary and the Sons of the American Legion are getting ready to host their annual 4th of July Picnic at the Burton Community Center.
Barbecue beef and pork with all the trimmings will be served from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. for $15 per plate. Barbecue will also be sold at the pit beginning at 10 a.m. for $15 a pound.
Along with the meal, guests can participate in live and silent auctions, a cake walk and games.
Burton’s 4th of July celebration has been held every year since 1888, except for the war years. American Legion Post #242 has sponsored it each year since 1920.
