BURTON SCHOOL BOARD TO TAKE UP CONSTRUCTION MANAGER-AGENT CONTRACT

  

The Burton School Board will gather again on Friday to potentially vote on a contract with a new construction manager-agent for the bond project.

The matter was discussed during a board meeting on Monday, but trustees chose not to take formal action on the contract with Weaver & Jacobs Constructors out of Cuero, as they had questions about important contract details.

The board designated a committee consisting of Board President Jeff Harmel and trustees Demetrius Colvin, Sr. and Mike Clyde to meet with Weaver & Jacobs to work out language about contract incentives, builder’s risk insurance, and salary and benefits for the job superintendent.

Following action on the contract, the board will possibly go into executive session to discuss personnel, security, and real property, as well as to consult with an attorney.  Any action will occur in open session.

The board will meet Friday at 12:15 p.m. in the Burton ISD Cafeteria.
