THREE CALLS WEDNESDAY FOR BRENHAM FIRE DEPT.

The Brenham Fire Department responded to three minor calls on Wednesday.

Around 7:30 a.m., the department received a report of a gas smell inside a home in the 1900 block of South Austin Street.  Firefighters and the City of Brenham Gas Department arrived on location to check the home.  BFD members found no reading of gas, and the Gas Department found no gas leak after performing tests.

Approaching 12:30 p.m., units were called out to the 4000 block of Highway 36 South for a transportation incident.  There, they found a two-vehicle accident.  The department checked for injuries and fluids leaking, but there were none on either count, so firefighters returned to service.

Shortly after 10:30 p.m., the department was dispatched to an apartment in the 800 block of Hosea Street for a report of a structure fire.  Nothing was showing from the exterior of the apartment when units arrived, and they did not discover any smoke or fire once they entered and checked the whole apartment.
