TWO ACCIDENTS AMONG FOUR CALLS THURSDAY FOR BRENHAM DEPT.

The Brenham Fire Department was called out to a pair of accidents on Thursday.

Shortly before 11:45 a.m., the department was dispatched to Highway 290 East and Blue Bell Road for a transportation incident.  Units arrived on location to find a two-vehicle accident.  After checking for injuries and fluids, they determined no one was hurt and no fluids were leaking.  The department returned to service after the vehicles were moved from the highway.

Approaching 5:15 p.m., another transportation incident was reported in the 100 block of East Stone Street.  Firefighters discovered a two-vehicle accident and found no injuries or leaking fluids.  Once the vehicles were moved from the roadway, units cleared the scene.

The fire department had two other calls on the day.

Just shy of 11:30 a.m., units were sent to Tuscany Italian Grill, 2100 Highway 290 East, for a report of a gas smell inside the building.  Firefighters and the City of Brenham Gas Department arrived on location, and they found a gas leak behind the grill.  They turned the gas off and advised an employee to have the grill repaired.

Just before 8:15 p.m., BFD members responded to an alarm sounding at a home in the 900 block of Muse Street.  Nothing was showing from the exterior of the building, and they ultimately found no signs of smoke or fire, so they returned to the station.
