GAS PRICES UP SLIGHTLY FOR FOURTH OF JULY

  

Gas prices around the state are up by a slim margin heading into the Fourth of July holiday.

According to the AAA Texas Weekend Gas Watch, the statewide average for a gallon of regular unleaded fuel is $3.10.  The price is 2 cents higher than this past week and this past month, but it is 4 cents lower than the price per gallon a year ago.

In Brenham, the average price stands at $3.06, with a low of $2.91 and a high of $3.36. 

Across the state’s metropolitan areas, drivers in El Paso are paying the most for gas at $3.53 per gallon, while drivers in Abilene and Tyler are spending the least at $2.95.  

Nationwide, the average price per gallon of gas comes out to $3.51, 2 cents more expensive than last week, but 2 cents cheaper than this time last month and at this point last year.
