FAITH MISSION ASSISTING HURRICANE BERYL VICTIMS

Faith Mission is lending a helping hand to those impacted by Hurricane Beryl.

The organization is supporting both local residents in need and evacuees to Washington County by coordinating shelter at local hotels, providing meals, and offering help with case management for assistance from the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA).

Faith Mission Executive Director Reverend Randy Wells says the group has been able to help people who lost power locally and families who came into town ahead of the storm and are preparing to head back home to survey the damage.

According to Rev. Wells, the county has a capacity of 619 hotel rooms, and all were filled because of the storm.

Faith Mission is the volunteer disaster agency for the City of Brenham and Washington County, and serves as the local service unit of the Salvation Army.
