Among the talking points will be an update on short-term rentals, including local current numbers and feedback from a recent group meeting between short-term rental property owners.

Next, board members will go over the work being done with the three local exhibits being developed for the Smithsonian’s Museum on Main Street program coming to Brenham this winter.

Also, the board will receive a report on recent hotel occupancy tax (HOT) tourism grant funding awarded for the fall cycle.  It will then receive Visit Brenham’s third-quarter fiscal year report and an update from the Washington County Expo.

The board will meet Thursday at 9 a.m. in Morriss Hall at The Barnhill Center.

  1. I think the short term rentals, or Air B&B’s as they are called , are getting out of control. Seems to be a FAD, and Brenham is suddenly being saturated with them. I did not buy my home to live by a “weekend motel” !! It totally goes against all rules and respect for a single family residential neighborhood .
