SPEAKER AND ENTERTAINMENT ANNOUNCED FOR TRUE BLUE BANQUET
The guest speaker and the musical entertainment have been announced for the annual Grimes County True Blue Banquet.
The banquet is being held on Saturday, August 17, at 6pm at the Grimes County Expo Center in Navasota.
The guest speaker is DPS Sgt. Juan Tovar. Tovar was shot and wounded while trying to apprehend workplace shooting suspect Larry Bollin in 2021.
Bollin killed one and injured several others after he opened fire at the Kent Moore Cabinets in Bryan. Tovar chased him into Grimes County and was injured in the process.
Meanwhile, the musical entertainment for the evening will be provided by country singers Rick Trevino and Stoney LaRue.
The evening also features a steak dinner and a full bar.

Grimes County True Blue Foundation is dedicated to providing equipment for local law agencies and officers, financial support for officers injured on the job, and scholarships to local Grimes County high school seniors who have first responders as parents, or plan to pursue an education in law enforcement.
The foundation is partnering with Operation Safe Shield to raise money to equip all patrol units with bullet proof windshields.
