THREE CALLS SATURDAY FOR BRENHAM FIRE DEPT.

The Brenham Fire Department was called out three times on Saturday.

Just after 10:15 a.m., the department responded to a home in the 800 block of East Tom Green Street for a report of a dog locked inside a vehicle.  Units arrived and found the owner trying to unlock the vehicle to get the dog out, with no luck.  They used equipment to unlock the vehicle so the dog could get out, and the department returned to service.

Shortly after 3:30 p.m., firefighters were dispatched to RR Donnelley, 1903 FM 389, for an alarm sounding.  Nothing was showing from the exterior of the building, and after checking the fire alarm in the office area, it was reset by an employee.

Approaching 6:45 p.m., BFD members went out to a transportation incident in the 4100 block of Highway 36 North.  There, they discovered a two-vehicle accident with injuries and fluids leaking.  Firefighters helped EMS with patient care and used dry absorbent on the spill.  After the vehicle was removed from the roadway, units returned to the station.
