TWO CALLS WEDNESDAY, TWO EARLY THURSDAY FOR BRENHAM FIRE DEPT.

The Brenham Fire Department responded to two calls Wednesday afternoon and two more early this (Thursday) morning.

Shortly before 3 p.m. Wednesday, the department was dispatched to Brown Street and North Blue Bell Road for a report of a transportation incident with fluids leaking.  Firefighters arrived to find a two-vehicle accident.  They checked for injuries, but both drivers were not hurt.  Units found no hazardous fluids leaking, and both vehicles were in a parking lot, so they returned to service.

Approaching 3:15 p.m., BFD members were called to the 100 block of Highway 290 East for a grass fire.  They arrived to find spots of grass on fire and extinguished the small fires.

Around 4:30 a.m. today, units responded to the Brenham State Supported Living Center, 4001 Highway 36 South, for an alarm sounding.  Nothing was showing from the exterior of the building, and they later discovered that the alarm was reset before they made location.  Firefighters walked the hallways and found no signs of smoke or fire, so they returned to the station.

Shortly after 6:15 a.m., the department went out to the 1300 block of South Blue Bell Road for a transportation incident.  There, units found a two-vehicle accident with no injuries or fluids leaking.  They used brooms to clean the roadway off before clearing the scene.
