CARRILLO NAMED NEW HEAD CHEER COACH AT BRENHAM HIGH SCHOOL
Brenham High School has brought in a coaching veteran to take over the Cheerleading program. The new Cheer Coach is Tashya Carrillo.
With over 30 years of experience in her coaching cheer, Carrillo has consistently led her teams to success, including top 3 finishes in multiple UIL State appearances and a State Spirit Championship in 2022.
Her teams have also earned accolades in Fight Song, Band Chant, and Crowd Chant categories.
In addition to her extensive cheer coaching background, Carrillo brings 22 years of teaching experience and a passion for shaping young minds. She also enjoys directing the One-Act Play, where her students recently achieved runner-up in the 2024 State Championship.
Beyond her coaching and teaching roles, she has actively led the Fellowship of Christian Athletes.
Coach Carrillo has been happily married to her husband, Tracey, for 25 years, and together they have five children.
Kari Prihoda, who was the head cheer coach, is remaining with the program as the assistant cheer coach.
