BURTON WINS 2 OUT OF 3 ON DAY ONE OF THE SCHULENBURG TOURNAMENT

The Burton Lady Panther Volleyball Team won two out of their three matches on day one of the Schulenburg Tournament on Thursday. 

In the opening match, Burton swept Ganado 25-10 and 25-3.  Amaya Williams had eight kills, Adison Harmel finished with 16 assists, and Reagan Roemer chipped in with six digs.

The Lady Panthers then beat Hallettsville 25-11 and 25-19. Lexi Broesche had 10 kills, Reagan Roemer led the defense with 12 digs. Laci Broesche dished out 13 assists, while Adison Harmel added 10 assists.  

Burton then fell to the defending State Champion Iola Lady Bulldogs 2-1. Iola won the first set 25-18, the Lady Panthers won the second set 25-22, and Iola took the final set 25-23. Lexi Broesche had seven kills. Adison Harmel finished with 14 assists, while Laci Broesche added 10 assists. Reagan Roemer led the defense with 13 digs followed by 11 digs from Kelsie Hohlt.

The tournament continues this (Friday) afternoon with Burton playing Flatonia at 3pm, Weimar at 4pm, and Sacred Heart at 6pm.
