CUBS & PANTHERS OPEN THE 2024 FOOTBALL SEASON TONIGHT (FRIDAY)

The season gets underway tonight (Friday) for the Brenham Cubs as they head out on the road to face the Huntsville Hornets. Huntsville won last year's meeting between the two teams, when they were still in the same district, 39-36.

Even though they are not in the same district anymore, Cub Head Coach Danny Youngs and Hornet Head Coach Rodney Southern agreed to still play one another, because they both felt it would be a good matchup for their respective teams. Coach Youngs talked about what they expect from Huntsville.

The opening kickoff is scheduled for 7pm.  KWHI will have live coverage beginning with the pregame at 6:30pm.

The Burton Panthers will be taking on the Holland Hornets tonight (Friday) at 7pm. Because of Panther Stadium not yet being ready to host games, tonight’s game will be held at Cub Stadium in Brenham. Last year, Holland defeated Burton 31-14.

Panther Head Coach Jason Hodde gave a scouting report on the what Holland looks like this season.

Holland-Burton is also the KTEX 106 Friday Face-Off Game of the Week.  Look for Eilish broadcasting live in the KTEX Country Cruiser.
