THE MALPASS BROTHERS TO RETURN TO THE BARNHILL CENTER

Malpass Brothers (Barnhill Center)

One of the most popular musical acts in Nashville and Branson, The Malpass Brothers, will take the stage at The Barnhill Center at Historic Simon Theatre (TBC) in Brenham. The show will take place at 7pm on Saturday September 28th.

“Malpass Brothers concerts are in high demand across America today,” said Sharon Brass, TBC producer. “They sold out at The Barnhill Center in early 2023 and we’re excited to host them a second time!”

Their music is steeped in the legacy of Johnny Cash, Marty Robbins, Hank Williams. George Jones and Merle Haggard. You’ll also hear a few old-time Gospel tunes.

The brother duo made their Grand Ole Opry debut in 2018 and have been asked to return to that stage over a dozen times since. They have headlined international tours and festivals in Ireland, Switzerland and Scotland.

On RFD-TV, “The Malpass Brothers Show” delivers a stellar lineup of legendary country artists with new episodes every Saturday, at 8PM ET. Each episode features captivating performances of traditional country and original music, celebrity guests, and insightful interviews.

The brothers have been featured on additional national television shows including TBN’s “The Huckabee Show” and RFD’s “Country’s Family Reunion” and “Larry’s Country Diner.” Their PBS documentary entitled Heading Home debuted on UNC-TV in June 2018.

The Malpass Brothers won two Josie Music Awards in Nashville: the Duo/Group of the Year for Traditional/Classic Country, and Entertainer of the Year for a Duo/Group.

They have shared stages with Merle Haggard, Ray Price, Willie Nelson, Marty Stuart, Doc Watson and many more country greats.

When they were teenagers, the great Merle Haggard invited them to perform as his opening act. They traveled and recorded with him for the next seven years.

In 2011, Haggard produced The Malpass Brothers’ debut album, “Memory That Bad” on Hag Records. The title track hit number 6 on the CMT Pure Country 12-Pack Countdown and remained in the charts for several weeks.

They released additional albums in 2015 and 2017. However, their latest album, Lonely Street (released May 12, 2023) may be their strongest project to date. It features brand new, traditional country music that sounds as if it were curated from a 50s/60s/70s smoke-filled, classic country jukebox.
