A night off from Region XIV play spelled blowout for the Blinn College men's soccer team Tuesday night.

The Buccaneers scored early and often as they dispatched Dynamos SC 7-1 at Rankin Field in Brenham, Texas.

"We can take some positives from tonight into what is a huge Region XIV home game on Friday," Blinn head coach Michael McBride said. "LSU-Eunice is the fourth ranked opponent we will have faced so far in our young season, and getting a result on Friday would be a significant step forward in our progression. We are relishing the prospect."

Before the Bucs (4-2-2 overall) could turn their attention toward 12th-ranked LSU-Eunice, they welcomed the Dynamos to town and quickly put on an offensive showcase.

Freshman midfielder Cristian Estrada got Blinn on the board in the 9th minute when he met a long pass from freshman defender Callum Hall with a swift kick to the Dynamos goal. Freshman midfielder Jorge Garcia also earned an assist on the play.

Estrada helped return the favor in the 21st minute when he and freshman defender Alfredo Morales set up a goal for Garcia.

Freshman defender Adrian Nieto-Saul scored back-to-back goals to end the first half. The first came in the 40th minute with the help of freshman Fernando Arroyo (forward) and Erick Escobar (defender), and Nieto-Saul went unassisted in the 45th to make it 4-0.

Charlie Goldsmith (Joe Alberico)

Freshman midfielder Charlie Goldsmith took an assist from Estrada and freshman defender Angel Guzman in the 52nd minute.

Sophomore forward Na'el Shalabi found the back of the goal in the 63rd minute, assisted by freshman midfielders Joaquin Rosales and Nawfal Hadj-Hamou.

The Dynamos scored their goal in the 79th minute on a volley off a free kick.

Freshman midfielder John Cooper closed out the scoring at the start of the 84th minute.

Blinn totaled 31 shots.

Freshman goalkeeper Bennett Woodworth worked 90 minutes for the win.

The Bucs host the LSU-Eunice Bengals at 7:30 p.m. on Friday at Rankin Field.
