THREE CALLS MONDAY FOR BRENHAM FIRE DEPT.

The Brenham Fire Department was called out three times on Monday.

Shortly after 8:30 a.m., firefighters responded to a two-vehicle crash at East Academy Street and North Market Street.  They made location to find no fluids leaking from the vehicles and proceeded to provide traffic control until wreckers could remove the vehicles from the roadway.  Once the roadway was cleared, the department returned to service.

At 3:15 p.m., BFD personnel went out to a grass fire on Tommelson Creek Road.  They arrived and discovered a small grass fire that was started by a landowner burning brush.  Firefighters extinguished the area that was burning and wet down another area before clearing the scene.

Around 3:45 p.m., units were dispatched to a gas station in the 600 block of West Alamo Street for a gas leak.  They found a small leak from one of the pumps and advised the gas attendant of the leak before applying dry absorbent to the area.
