Two second-half goals by a pair of Blinn College sophomores pushed the Buccaneer women's soccer team past Paris Junior College 2-0 in a Region XIV tilt Tuesday in Paris, Texas.

Blinn improved to 3-4 overall and 2-3 in region play.

"It was important for our team to get the win today, and our players came out and took care of business," Bucs head coach Alexandria Jackson said. "I am really proud of them. We had two great goals by two sophomores and we got another solid performance from our backline, which has been the case for us all year."

After playing the Dragons to a stalemate for 67 minutes, sophomore midfielder Annika Murdoch put Blinn on the board with a tally in the 68th. Freshman midfielder Rebecca Madric set up the play with a corner kick and Murdoch finished it with a header.

The tandem of sophomore forwards Alyssa Wright and Marissa Aparicio teamed up for an insurance goal in the 76th minute, with Wright using an assist from her teammate to give the visitors some breathing room.

Blinn out-shot Paris 7-4.

Sophomore goalkeeper Jordan Clark preserved the shutout with three saves.

Next on the Bucs' schedule is a region home tilt against Angelina College at 5 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 20, a Rankin Field in Brenham, Texas.
