BRENHAM CUBS TO HOST KILLEEN IN A THURSDAY NIGHT GAME

The Brenham Cub Football Team is getting to host a rare Thursday night game against the Killeen Kangaroos later this (Thursday) evening.

The Cubs are off to a 3-0 start to the season, which the program's best since 2011. They opened with a thrilling 39-35 victory over Huntsville, followed by a 42-6 drubbing of Houston Sterling, and then last week's 43-22 win against Bryan.

QB Jordan Harvey is coming off of a five touchdown performance (3 passing, 2 rushing) against Bryan. On the season, he is 33 of 47 passing for 406 yards, with six touchdowns and three interceptions. Harvey has a 70% completion percentage, and a QB Rating of 109.6.

RB Jakoby Dixon has carried the ball 59 times for 553 yards and five touchdowns. He is now up to 9.4 yards per carry.

WR Cartelle Brown now leads the team with 10 receptions for 158 yards, and three touchdowns.

The Cubs defense continues to get better each week with their linebacking corps leading the way. The team's leading tackler is Caleb Espinoza has 38 tackles. Kristian Prosper is second on the team with 29 tackles, and Doyle Brown is third with 20 tackles.

Killeen is off to an 0-3 start, but the record is deceptive. All of their games have been competitive. They lost to Vista Ridge 31-21, Killeen Ellison 58-52, and Lake Belton 49-42.
