Russell Borgstedte of Washington and Ray Meyer of Burton were elected to three-year director terms on the Farm Bureau Board of Directors.

The board later named the winners of the Outstanding Agri-Business Award: David and Dalton Feldmann of Feldmann Farm LLC.

Yearly highlights of Farm Bureau activities in agriculture were highlighted in the report given by President Larry Winkelmann.  Policy recommendations voted on will be sent to Waco for committee consideration.  Delegates will be elected to attend the annual meeting in December in Round Rock.

Also at the meeting, board members heard from members of the Texas Brigades, who spoke on their role in improving the lives of students and their appreciation of the financial support to the Brigade camps.  In addition, they heard from Addison Schramme, who spoke about the value of her Farm Bureau scholarship, as well as Texas Farm Bureau District 11 Director Stuart Traylor, who talked about the example Washington County is setting as a voice of agriculture.
