TWO LOCAL BANKERS HONORED FOR 50 YEARS OF SERVICE

  

Two local bankers have been recently recognized for reached a milestone in their industry.

Ben Flencher and Leslie Schoppe of Citizens State Bank were recently recognized by the Independent Bankers Association of Texas for their 50 years of service.

Flencher became the fifth President and CEO of CSB in 1981, and following the death of his father in 1996, was named Chairman of the Board.

Under Flencher’s leadership, Citizens State Bank has expanded to include seven locations in Somerville, Deanville, Caldwell, Brenham, Snook, Navasota, and Burton.

Schoppe is the Banks’ Executive Vice President. He began his banking career in 1974, later becoming assistant cashier in 1977, and working his way up the ranks to his current position.

IBAT President and CEO Christopher Williston VI said Flencher and Schoppe epitomize what it means to be true Texas community bankers.

He added, “Their 50 years of the service is a testament to their unwavering commitment to their bank, and their community.”

Citizens State Bank will reach another milestone next year as they celebrate their 100th anniversary.
