The Blinn College women's soccer team endured a 2-0 road loss at the hands of Region XIV adversary Angelina College on Tuesday in Lufkin, Texas.

The Buccaneers are now 5-6-1 overall and 4-5 in the region standings.

"The score doesn't paint the actual picture of the game," Blinn head coach Alexandria Jackson said. "We completely dominated the first half, and coming into the second half, a mistake in the back cost us a chance at a lead. Our players competed until the very end, and we will now look forward with hopes of solidifying home-field advantage in the region tournament by winning our final two matches."

Angelina scored in the 46th minute and added to its lead with a goal in the 83rd.

The Bucs tied the Roadrunners in scoring opportunities with six apiece, with each of Blinn's shots being on goal.

Sophomore goalkeeper Jordan Clark made four saves for the Bucs.

Up next, Blinn will battle region foe Texas Southmost College at 5 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 15, at Rankin Field in Brenham, Texas.
