RT-C, DIME BOX, AND FAYETTEVILLE TAKE TOP SPOTS AT DISTRICT MEET

Local high schools took part in the District 29-1A Cross Country Meet that was held on Thursday in Fayetteville.

On the boys side, Dime Box was the top overall team, and had five runners finish in the top ten. David Gutierrez was the overall individual winner with a time of 16:30.94. Rounding out the team were:

2.) Kyle Iselt - 18:05.68

3.) Jorge Becerra - 18:18.46

9.) Rodrigo Martinez - 19:22.05

10.) Gavin Benge - 19:30.41

Round Top-Carmine was the third place overall team (Buckholts was second). Caden Tovey finished sixth overall with a time of 18:53.08, while William Neese was eighth overall with a time of 19:14.58.

On the girls side, Fayetteville's Saige Gasaway was the top individual finisher with a time of 13:54.68, while her teammate, Isabel Coufal, finished sixth overall with a time of 15:14.87.

Round Top-Carmine was the first place overall team with six runners placing in the top ten. The top runners for RT-C were:

4.) Avery Nelius - 14:55.39

7.) Madison Markwardt - 15:23.91

8.) Jill Eilers - 15:28.58

9.) Tess Eilers - 15:30.19

10.) Reagan Williams - 15:34.42

The top three teams and the top ten individual runners advance to the Regional Meet at Texas A&M Corpus Christi on October 22.
