MEYERSVILLE, CHAPPELL HILL FIRE DEPARTMENTS EXTINGUISH GRASS FIRE

Firefighters responded Wednesday afternoon to a grass fire north of Chappell Hill.

Around 5:15 p.m., members of the Meyersville and Chappell Hill Volunteer Fire Departments were called out to a grass fire on FM 1155, near Live Oak Lane.

When they arrived, they discovered a burn pile and approximately 2.5 acres on fire.

Photos shared by the Meyersville department show firefighters working through thick brush and in a field to put out the fire.  Units were on scene until 7:30 p.m.

The Washington County Sheriff’s Office also responded to assist.
