The Grimes County Sheriff’s Office says investigators were attempting to locate a wanted person in the Plantersville area when, around 9:15 a.m., they located a minivan known to be driven by the wanted person, identified as Darrell Edwin Hemann.

A deputy attempted to stop the vehicle, but the sheriff’s office says Hemann did not stop, traveling west on County Road 302 and then south on FM 1774 at speeds of over 100 mph.

The pursuit continued into Waller County, and Waller County Sheriff’s Office deputies and DPS troopers responded to assist.

According to the sheriff’s office, a female passenger, identified as Shandi Imhoff, was seen throwing items out of the front passenger window during the chase.  Those objects were later determined to be suspected narcotics.

The vehicle was ultimately stopped, and a search resulted in investigators recovering meth, heroin, a pellet gun, a cap gun and other “miscellaneous” items.  After being cleared medically by EMS, the two suspects were transported to the Grimes County Jail.

Hemann was placed into custody for a parole violation and for Delivery of a Controlled Substance.  Imhoff was charged with Tampering with Evidence.  The sheriff’s office says additional charges are pending.
