At 7:30 p.m., volunteers were called to the 25200 block of Laneview Road in Hempstead to help Waller County agencies with a barn that had caught on fire.

Firefighters arrived on scene and provided manpower for overhaul, checking the fire scene to determine that no fire remained.  They cleared the scene around 9:30 p.m.

Over the weekend, Chappell Hill firefighters participated in the Washington County Live Burn at the TEEX Brayton Fire Field in College Station.  They trained alongside the Washington County recruit class, practicing search and rescue exercises inside a burning building, handling hoses and managing liquified petroleum gas fires.
