LOCAL WINERY HOLDS SUCCESSFUL FUNDRAISER FOR VETERANS ORGANIZATION
Busted Oak Cellars Winery in Carmine held a successful fundraiser this past Saturday to benefit an organization dedicated to helping veterans.
The winery hosted their third annual Chili Cook-Off, Silent Auction, and Arts-n-Craft Show. The event raised $6,200 for Camp Hope in Houston.
Camp Hope is a program that provides housing, counseling, mentoring, and support for veterans and their families affected by combat trauma, and PTSD.
Camp Hope was founded by William and Galia White, whose son paid the ultimate price while serving in Iraq in 2006.
The Chili Cook-Off featured teams competing in multiple categories including chili, beans, sangria, and salsa.
There was also live music provided by Jake Averitt, Willow Creek Junction, and Jack & Hayden.
