DPS INVESTIGATING A FATAL TRAFFIC CRASH IN GRIMES COUNTY

The Texas Department of Public Safety is investigating a fatal traffic crash that occurred Saturday night on FM 1774 and County Road 303 in Todd Mission.

According to DPS Sergeant Justin Ruiz, around 8:45pm, a 2012 Jeep Grand Cherokee was traveling southbound in the center-left turn only lane, and passing slow moving traffic.

Meanwhile, a 2013 Dodge Ram 1500 was traveling northbound in the center-left turn only lane, and attempted to make a left turn on to County Road 303.

Both vehicles struck each other head-on, which resulted in the Jeep leaving the roadway and striking a tree.
