BRENHAM FIRE DEPARTMENT RESPONDED TO FOUR CALLS ON TUESDAY
The Brenham Fire Department responded to four calls during the day on Tuesday.
The first call came in just before 7:30am at the 500 Block of West Blue Bell Road. Firefighters were dispatched to a report of a gas smell in the area. BFD units arrived on location and could not smell any gas. Firefighters used a gas detector, and after seeing that it had no readings, they returned to service.
A short time later, at 7:45am, the Brenham Fire Department was called to the 1500 Block of West Main Street for a report of a transportation incident. BFD units found a two-vehicle accident with no injuries. Firefighters cleaned the roadway off, and helped with traffic control. Once the vehicles were removed from the roadway, they returned to service.
Just before 8:30am, Brenham FD units were dispatched to the 1500 Block of FM 389 for a report of a transportation incident. Firefighters arrived on location to find a two-vehicle accident with no injuries. BFD members checked for fluids and found a small spill. Both vehicles were off the roadway.
The final call came in at 1:25pm. Brenham FD Units were sent to the 1700 Block of East Stone Street for a report of an alarm sounding. After not seeing anything from the exterior, firefighters went inside. They later discovered that a resident had burnt popcorn in the microwave. BFD members reset the alarm, and returned to service.
