BRENHAM MAN CHARGED WITH ASSAULT

A Brenham man was arrested Sunday, charged with assault.
Brenham Police report that Sunday afternoon at 3:30, Officers responded to the 400 block of Mcintyre Street in reference to a disturbance. Investigation revealed that Melvin Johnson, 59 of Brenham, assaulted another on scene with a weapon. Johnson was taken into custody and transported to the Washington County Jail, where he was booked in for Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon.
Police did not state what type of weapon was used or the condition of the victim.
