THREE CALLS TUESDAY FOR BRENHAM FIRE DEPT.
The Brenham Fire Department responded to three calls on Tuesday.
Shortly before 9:15 a.m., firefighters were dispatched for a smoke investigation at a home in the 400 block of Ava Drive. They made location to find a small pile burning in the backyard and spoke with the resident about the city code for burning in the city. Units then cleared the call.
At 4:30 p.m., the department was called out to a possible structure fire at Plumb Level, 1807 Highway 105. Firefighters arrived and found light smoke coming from the building. They made entry and found the bathroom fan shorted out, causing the smoke. Personnel used fans to clear the smoke out of the structure, returning to service once all the smoke was clear.
Around 6 p.m., units went out to the Brenham State Supported Living Center, 4001 Highway 36 South, for a fire alarm. However, they were cancelled enroute to the call, so they returned to the station.
