BRENHAM MAN ARRESTED AFTER WELFARE CHECK

  

A Brenham man was arrested Thursday after a welfare check.

Brenham Police report that Thursday morning at 8:35, Officer Garrett Downs was dispatched to a welfare check in the area of East Stone and South Baylor Streets. After investigation, Fred Thompson, 48 of Brenham, was placed in custody for Walked On Highway With Traffic - No Sidewalks.  Police note that officers have received multiple calls of Thompson walking in the roadway with each time addressing his safety by him staying out of the roadway.  After numerous encounters, Thompson was eventually placed into custody.
