SNOOK MAN SENTENCED TO PRISON FOR MULTIPLE CHARGES

Frederick Lamont Hawkins (Burleson Co. Jail)

A Snook man will be spending a long time in prison after pleading guilty to multiple charges in the Burleson County District Court.

20-year-old Frederick Lamont Hawkins was charged with Murder in connection with the deaths of 17-year-old Keelee Wilson and 16-year-old Fraylan Hawkins.

As part of a plea agreement, he was sentenced by Judge Carson Campbell to 20 years in prison for each count, and the sentences will run concurrently.

Hawkins was also sentenced to 20 years in prison for Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon, due to his actions leading to the hospitalization of 17-year-old Ashauntie Lister.

In addition to that, he was sentenced to 10 years in prison for Felony Evading Arrest.

The charges stem from a March 2, 2022 fatal traffic crash in Snook.

Hawkins was the driver and the three victims were passengers in a vehicle that was stopped by a DPS Trooper for failure to signal a turn and a registration violation.

Hawkins initially stopped to speak with the trooper, but then sped off and led law enforcement on a high-speed chase. He eventually lost control, went off the road, and crashed into a tree.

Wilson and Fraylan Hawkins were pronounced dead at the scene. Frederick Hawkins and Lister were hospitalized from injuries sustained in the wreckage.
