The Washington County Farm Bureau and the Austin County Farm Bureau’s feral hog management program was recognized at the state Farm Bureau meeting held over the weekend.

The Texas Farm Bureau’s 91st State Meeting was held Friday thru Sunday in Round Rock.

The two county Farm Bureaus submitted their feral hog management program to the state competition for the County Activities of Excellence Award.

The program was selected as one of the top five in the state, and will now advance to the American Farm Bureau Federation meeting being held in San Antonio this January.

The AFBF had 200 applicants, and only 20 were chosen to advance. Five of those applicants are from Texas.
