TWO ACCIDENTS AMONG THREE CALLS MONDAY FOR BRENHAM FIRE DEPT.
The Brenham Fire Department responded to three calls on Monday, two of those being motor vehicle accidents.
At 1 p.m., firefighters were dispatched to a crash in the 2200 block of Highway 290 East. They arrived to find two vehicles involved in the accident, one being a Ford pickup and the other being an 18-wheeler with minor damage that ran off the road. Units provided traffic control for the crash until law enforcement made location and released them from the scene.
Around 6:15 p.m., another accident was reported at South Chappell Hill Street and East Stone Street. BFD members found two vehicles involved in the accident, with one in the middle of the intersection and the other off to the side. The department provided traffic control until law enforcement arrived.
No one was transported from either crash.
Also on Monday, firefighters were called out at 1 p.m. to a fire alarm in the 3000 block of Highway 290 East. They responded to a single-wide trailer house, but the alarm was not sounding. Personnel checked with the homeowner and there were no issues, so the department returned to service.
