MONTGOMERY HANDS CUBETTES SECOND STRAIGHT DISTRICT LOSS 51-27

It was a rough night for the Brenham Cubette Basketball Team as they lost their second district game in a row to Montgomery 51-27 last (Tuesday) night at the Brenham High School Gym.

The Lady Bears jumped out to an early 12-5 lead at the end of the first quarter. Montgomery would then add to it with a 15-5 second quarter that gave them a 27-10 lead at halftime.

The Cubettes faired a little better in the second half, but the Lady Bears still outscored them 15-10 in the third quarter and 8-7 in the fourth quarter.

Janiyah Mathis led Brenham with 17 points.

Next up, the Cubettes travel to Huntsville on Friday for a 6:30pm game.
