PANTHERS AND LADY PANTHERS PICK UP WINS ON TUESDAY
The Burton Panther and Lady Panther Basketball Teams picked up a pair of wins last (Tuesday) night.
The Lady Panthers opened up District 26-2A play with a 66-47 win over Snook at the Burton High School Gym.
Lexi Broesche led Burton with 27 points, while Aerynn Huntsman finished with 16 points.
Meanwhile, the Burton Panthers got the better of McDade 59-29 on the road in their last game before the start of district play on Friday.
KD Patterson led the Panthers with 21 points, Eli Simank chipped in with 13 points, and Jason Gonzalez finished with 10 points.
The wins improve the Lady Panthers to 8-6 overall, and 1-0 in district, while the Panthers are now 9-4 overall.
Both teams will be traveling to Hearne on Friday for district play. Because of it being the last day before the Christmas break, the start times have been moved up. The JV boys play at 2pm, followed by the Lady Panthers at 3:15pm, and the Panthers at 4:30pm.
