County Commissioners on

his office as deputy constable.
The current deputy constable,
Brad Kuecker, is preparing to take
office as Precinct 3 Constable in
January.

Washington County Commissioners on Tuesday gave the ok for the Precinct 1 Constable’s Office to bring in a replacement deputy constable.

Current deputy constable Brad Kuecker is preparing to begin his elected term in January as Precinct 3 Constable.  Filling Kuecker’s position will be Dairius Smith, who has served as the interim Precinct 3 Constable since October 2023 after the previous Precinct 3 Constable, David Blakey, resigned in order to run for county sheriff.

Precinct 1 Constable Ken Holle said Smith, who was not in attendance on Tuesday, has been a good asset for the county.  Commissioner Kirk Hanath said Smith has been a great fit for the Precinct 3 Constable’s Office and feels he will also do well in Precinct 1.

  • Approved a right-of-way permit application for the SGT Texas Outlaws trail ride on January 11th.
  • Discussed a formal notice from Magnolia Oil & Gas for a temporary lay flat along the county right-of-way of Rehburg Road in Precinct 3.  No action was needed.
