Brenham Businessman Tieman H. “Skipper” Dippel Jr. will be the keynote speaker at the 2025 Washington County Chamber of Commerce/Brenham Economic Development Foundation Banquet.

Dippel is best known for being the longtime president of Brenham National Bank. He is also a civic leader, attorney, and author of six books.

Dippel is the son of a former Washington County Sheriff. He graduated from Blinn College with an Associate of Arts Degree.

Afterwards, Dippel went on to the University of Texas at Austin, where he obtained a Bachelors Degree in Business Administration from the McCombs School of Business, and a Juris Doctor from the UT-School of Law.

Following college, Dippel served in the U.S. Navy, and achieved the rank of lieutenant commander in the Navy Reserves.

During his career, he also served as Chairman of the Texans for Quality Education, President of the East Texas Chamber of Commerce, a member of the development board for the UT-Health Science Center, a board member for Blue Cross/Blue Shield of Texas, and as a director of the Federal Reserve Bank in Dallas.

In 1987, Texas Business magazine named Dippel as one of the “20 Most Powerful Texans.” In addition to that, he was inducted in 2014 into the Texas Bankers Hall of Fame.

The Chamber/EDF banquet is going to be held on Thursday, January 30, at 5:30pm at the Fireman’s Training Center in Brenham.

Tickets are $50 per person, and $600 for a table of eight. Sponsorships are also available.

Tickets are available on-line and at the Chamber Office until January 23.
