CASA TO BEGIN ADVOCATE TRAINING JAN. 20

CASA for Kids of South Central Texas will soon begin classes to train new court appointed special advocates (CASAs).

CASA volunteers are appointed by a judge to advocate for the best interest of an abused or neglected child in the state’s foster care system.

Classes will start on January 20th and will continue each Monday and Thursday night through February 6th, from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m.

Advocacy training includes 30 hours of combined in-person and online training, along with in-person court room observations.

CASA will provide all needed materials at the classes.  Light meals will be offered.

Volunteers must submit an application, complete an interview and be accepted into the class prior to January 20th.

CASA’s office is located in Brenham at 1500 South Day Street.

More information is available at www.wespeak4kids.org or by calling 979-277-0088.
