BRENHAM MAN BOOKED IN ON AGGRAVATED ASSAULT WARRANTS
A Brenham man was arrested on Tuesday on aggravated assault warrants.

Around 2:45 p.m., Brenham Police Officer Garrett Downs made a traffic stop in the 1600 block of North Park Street on a known wanted subject, identified as 19-year-old Jerry Salazar-Varela.
Salazar-Varela was taken into custody for two active warrants for Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon. Police say the warrants stem from an ongoing investigation into an altercation involving a firearm in October 2024.
Salazar-Varela was transported to the Washington County Jail, where he was booked in for his two warrants.
