BRENHAM POLICE ARREST TWO ON SATURDAY

  

Reports of a crash and a hit and run led to two separate arrests by Brenham police on Saturday.

Just after midnight, officers responded to the 1300 block of South Market Street.  Dispatchers received a call stating that a car had hit a pole, and the occupants were leaving the scene.  After investigation, 25-year-old Braeden Portis of Brenham was arrested for Driving While Intoxicated and transported to the Washington County Jail. 

Around 5:45 p.m., officers went out to the 200 block of Highway 290 West.  Investigation revealed a hit and run had occurred, and witnesses were able to identify the suspect.  33-year-old Nikki Spitzer of Burton was taken to the Washington County Jail, where she was booked in for Failure to Comply with Requirements on Striking an Unattended Vehicle.
