“THE TRIP TO BOUNTIFUL” COMING TO UNITY THEATRE
Unity Theatre in Brenham’s 30th Anniversary Season continues next month with their presentation of “The Trip to Bountiful.”
“The Trip to Bountiful”, a play by Horton Foote, will be on the Main Stage from February 6-23.
Foote’s drama follows the journey of Carrie Watts who yearns to escape the cramped Houston apartment where she lives with her son, Ludie, and domineering daughter-in-law, Jessie Mae.
She longs to return, one last time, to her hometown of Bountiful, Texas. With Ludie and Jessie Mae in hot pursuit she manages to evade them only to discover that her beloved Bountiful is no longer the same as she remembered it.
Performance times are 7:30pm on Thursdays, 8pm on Fridays and Saturdays, and 2pm on Sundays.
Tickets are $30 each. However, for the preview performance on February 6, the tickets are $23 each and that includes a talk-back session with the cast and crew after the show.
Circle reservations begin this coming Monday, January 13. That will be followed by Subscriber Reservations beginning on January 20, and then tickets go on sale to the general public on January 27.
For tickets, you can come by the Unity Theatre Box Office at 300 Church Street. Their hours are Monday-Friday from 10am-2pm. You can also give them a call at 979-830-8358, or send an e-mail to tickets@unitybrenham.org.
