FOUR CALLS WEDNESDAY, ONE EARLY THURSDAY FOR BRENHAM FIRE DEPT.

The Brenham Fire Department responded to four calls on Wednesday and another early this (Thursday) morning.

Around 11:15 a.m. Wednesday, firefighters were called out to the 300 block of West First Street for a two-vehicle crash.  Upon arrival, they found both vehicles had moved off the roadway into a parking lot.  Units checked both vehicles and provided traffic control until Brenham police made location and released them from the scene.

Shortly before 4:15 p.m., firefighters were dispatched to a fire alarm at RR Donnelley, 1903 FM 389.  While enroute, dispatch advised proper passcode was given.  The department made location and checked the business, which was having an alarm system issue.

Just shy of 4:30 p.m., BFD members responded to a home in the 1600 block of South Jackson Street for a report of a child stuck in a couch.  However, they were cancelled when the caller advised the child’s leg was no longer stuck.

Approaching 6:15 p.m., the department went out to the 200 block of Old Navasota Road for a possible structure fire.  Personnel arrived to find a single-story house with nothing showing from the exterior.  They checked the house and found the breaker panel was causing the issues, so they turned the main breaker off to the house and advised the homeowner to get an electrician to check the panel out.

Around 6 a.m. today, units responded to a fire alarm at Kruse Village, 1700 East Stone Street.  Prior to their arrival, dispatch advised that they received proper passcode for the alarm.  After checking, firefighters determined the location was having an alarm system issue.
