CUBETTES FALL TO LAKE CREEK 43-23 ON YOUTH NIGHT

The rough district campaign continued for the Brenham Cubettes this (Friday) evening at the Brenham High School Gym. In a battle of two teams that were still looking for their first district win, it was Lake Creek getting the victory 43-23.

Senior Point Guard Chaney Spencer led the Lady Lions with a 27-point performance.

The game was close at one point with Lake Creek on top by just an 11-10 score after the first quarter.

However, the next two quarters were the deciders, as the Lady Lions outscored Brenham in the second quarter 16-7, and then 9-1 in the third quarter.

Lake Creek also won the fourth quarter 7-5.

Janiyah Mathis led Brenham with six points. Yazmine Gaines, Ja'laya Pettus, and Carmen McWilliams had four points each.

The loss drops Brenham to 18-20 overall and they wrap up the first half of district with an 0-6 record.

The second half of district starts Tuesday night when the Cubettes host College Station at 6:30pm. KWHI will have live coverage beginning with the pregame at 6:15pm.
