THREE CALLS THURSDAY, ONE EARLY FRIDAY FOR BRENHAM FIRE DEPT.
The Brenham Fire Department was called out three times on Thursday and once early this (Friday) morning.
Around 8:30 a.m. Thursday, units responded to a fire alarm at Krause Elementary School, 2201 East Stone Street. They arrived to find a pull station activated, but it was determined that it happened on accident, so they reset the alarm system and returned to service.
A few minutes after 3:30 p.m., another fire alarm was reported at a home in the 1500 block of South Jackson Street. Firefighters made location to find a bad smoke detector and advised the homeowner of the issue.
Approaching 9:30 p.m., BFD members were dispatched to a possible structure fire at a home in the 800 block of Pecan Street. Upon arrival, they found a single-story house with nothing showing from the outside. Units checked the house and found the breaker for the air handler unit was causing the issue, so they turned the breaker off in the breaker panel for that unit and advised the homeowner to have an electrician check it out.
Shortly after midnight today, firefighters and the City of Brenham Gas Department went out to a home in the 600 block of West Stone Street for a gas odor. After checking the area for a leak or smell, the gas department released the fire department from the scene.
