BURTON SPLITS DOUBLEHEADER WITH SNOOK
The Burton Lady Panther Basketball Team dominated their way to a 53-27 district win over Snook on Friday night.
The Lady Panthers won the opening quarter 11-4. They also won the second quarter 18-10 to take a 29-14 lead into the locker room at half time.
Burton then outscored the Lady Blue Jays 18-8 in the third quarter and 6-5 in the fourth quarter to win the game.
Lexi Broesche led Burton with 15 points, while Laci Broesche had 13 points.
Meanwhile, on the boys side, it was Snook over Burton 64-31. The Blue Jays led 13-7 after the first quarter, and then broke the game open in the second quarter, 25-8, to take a 38-15 lead at half time.
Snook then outscored the Panthers 26-16 in the second half to secure the win.
Burton was scheduled to host Hearne tomorrow (Tuesday) at the Burton High School Gym. However, due to the weather, the games have been postponed.
Athletic Director Jason Hodde said reschedulings of the games are to be determined.
