BRENHAM TOURISM ADVISORY BOARD TO RECEIVE PROJECT REPORTS
The Brenham Tourism Advisory Board will hear a host of reports when it holds its first meeting of 2025 on Thursday.
The updates will begin with discussion on the media tour conducted in mid-November by Geiger and Associates. A group of travel journalists was invited to visit many of Washington County’s tourist attractions in order to increase media exposure outside of advertising and social media.
Next, the board will hear about the progress of Brenham’s request for recognition by the Texas Legislature as the Ice Cream Capital of Texas. In November, the city council adopted a resolution requesting the designation from the Legislature.
Later, board members will learn about the steps being taken by the Visit Brenham Destination Marketing Organization to prepare for wildflower season this spring. They will then receive a recap of Brenham’s hosting of the Smithsonian’s Museum on Main Street exhibits, along with related projects and programming.
Other business will include the Visit Brenham fourth quarter fiscal year report, a report from the Washington County Expo, and administrative and staff updates.
While most of the meeting will be spent in work session, board members will take action on electing a board chair and vice chair for the 2025 calendar year.
The board will meet Thursday at 9 a.m. in Morriss Hall at The Barnhill Center.
